Here's more of an official plan:
What is the Moosader Guild?
The Moosader Guild (or Community, Clan, whatever sounds nice) is a group of developers working independently (or in teams, as they choose).
Guild members work on and distribute their projects independently- under their own username, for whatever they want to charge for it.
As a guild member, though, you would also get a "guild badge" that could go on the splash screen or with the credits.
The ideas is - you plug the guild, the guild plugs you.
The plan
If there is anybody interested, I will put up a website specifically about the group itself. It will list games made by the members of the guild, links to official page, place to buy, etc.
I will also advertise new guild games on Moosader.com's front page, to help you get more interest.
You also link to the guild page in addition to your own (you get top billing, do what you wish, we just want a mention
You're in charge of your game- development, teams, platform, distribution, charging. At this point it's just a unified way to plug your work.
The Perks
Why be in the guild?
Guild Directory
As mentioned above, your game will be listed on the Moosader Guild page, and the new games will also get a plug on Moosader.com. The more Guild members plug their own projects and the guild, the more interest we'll hopefully garner.
Team Support
I would like to foster a sense of membership between guildmates. We're part of a team, we can work together towards making sure everybody's games are the best they can be.
Have questions? Ask the team.
Need a dev/art/music teammate? Ask the team.
Need to brainstorm? Ask the team.
Want a code-review? Ask the team.
Quality
In order for your game to be accepted as a guild game, it will have to pass quality requirements (to be defined later).
At the very least I will verify the quality, but with enough members and time, we could also act as your QA team to give you feedback and report bugs. We would like for you to also do the same for us.
Does it have to be games?
Nope. Can do apps and such also.
If you're interested in doing tutorials, we can put up a place on the site for that.
Offering to teach people is a great way to bring in interested people.
Why do all this?
It's testing the water.
I want to be able to work with a team, get my feet wet in releasing official games to marketplaces, and also make sure everybody else can get the resources they need to do the same.
I want to find out who is a great candidate for being a teammate, and I want everybody to learn to be their own bosses. You want to try to do this professionally? Start conservative, and with the support of a team!
I'm not sure about the commitment...
If you're interested in being part of the guild but don't feel like you could pump out regular games, don't worry. This isn't a development house, there are no deadlines. You're in charge of your projects.
If you happen to have a game, or something you're working on, and want it to be part of the guild, just let us know!
If you want to help by playtesting and critiquing, that'd be great!
How do I begin?
Let me know that you're interested!
If you're currently working on something, post it in this forum! Keep us up-to-date on development.
I would like really dedicated, active people to be a part of the guild, but like I said there's no pressure or deadlines.
After you have a game done or mostly-done, it can be quality reviewed so it can get the Moosader Guild badge. (I guess this almost sounds like "Nintendo Seal of Approval"
Try to stick to one game at a time! Don't over-burden yourself!
